I've only been twice and each time has been an absolute different experience. I'll make this easier to read by breaking it up. Looks SO cool! Felt like I was in Vegas again. The merchandise was totally fun to look at. You can smoke in here. Yuck. At least they have those smoke soaker-upper things. First trip I won $83 on a penny slot! Saw a comedy show. Thought I paid for a reserved table....website said I did, ticket said I did. The show was general admission and when we showed up (30 minutes to the show) thinking we had a reserved table, ended up with the crappiest seats because it was changed to general admission. Contact of that happens again maybe? Bullshit. Drinks are OK priced. I know it's not going to be dive bar price because it IS a casino, but WHY are drinks MORE expensive INSIDE the show venue? I paid to be in here!!!!!!!! Drinks should be a buck CHEAPER! Bullshit. Super clean bathrooms. Nice. Your cocktail waitresses (well, a couple) are idiots. They kept asking ME how much my drink was. "Oh, I drink for free!" #idiots Will Call was not labeled at all. Walked around the place like 3 fucking times until a CUSTOMER was able to tell me it was in the Rock Shop. A sign would be nice! (Ended up seeing a sign when I got to the rock shop, but it was turned around and the 'Will Call' was facing the wall. Good job, kiddos!) Free pop and tea and stuff. That's cool. A really cool chick helped me get my Backstage Pass. Wish I remembered her name. Didn't win dick my second time there. Was told I couldn't walk on a certain walking path because I wasn't a VIP member. Have. Sign then maybe. How hard is that!? I'll more than likely go back, just probably not any time soon. Fix the crap. Fix your website.

My dad is a big fan of great casino buffet's from Las Vegas and LA to OK to So we went in for dinner today at 7:20pm to the world buffet within the Sioux City hard rock café casino and hotel. We enter the line for the buffet with 3-4 people ahead of us and notice the prices boldly posted on the wall at 15$(17$ with a drink) then I said "hey not bad for a casino" that was until we saw the buffet. Lets start with the salad bar that looked like it had been all picked over/not filled recently with wilted/discolored lettuce. then went for some cocktail shrimp that must've been sitting out wayyyyy to long because after eating 1 I was done the shrimp was slimy. Me and my father go for some of the salmon which was like rubber and must have been sitting for a minimum of 3-4 hours. Then we go for some steamed vegetables (thinking this must be impossible to screw up) it was like mush I mean how do you screw up steamed vegetables of all things. While being in Iowa I have had better fried chicken come from a gas station and it was fresh when I grabbed it from the station. The other thing I tried was the sausage from the carving station it lacked flavor and had a funny texture. All of the other stations appeared inedible just by the curb appeal alone. 7:35 pm we leave disappointed and still hungry. To sum this up they need to change the kitchen staff and head chef before I would ever consider setting foot into this establishment again.

We lived the casino but their buffet is terrible ...( see review for buffet ) Machines are fairly loose most all newer games. Few table games. Drinks are high and good luck finding a cocktail waitress Not as nice as most Hard Rocks I've been to but was really ok If in the area we would stop in again But don't go planning on eating at the buffet unless you are ok with few selections and just average food

Growing up in Vegas, I'm very familiar with Hard Rock's Casino...this was really no different, and if your into music, or really just enjoy seeing cool memorabilia, this is cool place to be...didn't play games here, but I enjoyed the layout...I'd come back...

We took the two hour trip over here on a Sunday. We got there around noon, which was perfect timing. I've never been all the way to basically Nebraska! lol I was thinking that this was going to be anything special and my expectations were very low pulling into Sioux City but when we got to the parking, I was pleasantly surprised! First off the parking lot was packed to the max, so I doubt this place ever has a bad day. I took tons of pictures because I was so impressed with how nice it was inside. The entrance with the doors and all of the lights when you walked in was very grand and nice looking. You definitely did not feel like you were in the middle of nowhere Midwest USA. I got my membership card and off I was to win some money :) By the way... We all walked away with pretty good amounts of money! With the membership card you can get great deals like a $5 buffet, which we all did. After playing for awhile, I was hungry! The buffet was called 'The World Tour Buffet' and boy was the area nice! Wow, my jaw dropped and I was so stunned! Not only was the restaurant nice, the food was excellent on top of that. They had every type of cuisine, Mexican, Italian, American etc. There was a carving station with mashed potatoes and gravy to die for (get the turkey gravy). There was fried chicken and biscuit yum! OMG!! BEST PORK AND VEGGIE EGGS ROLLS IVE EVER HAD! Usually when it comes to appetizers at buffets, it tastes like they got it out of the frozen and threw it in the oven. Not this food! It was unbelievable, seriously.. And I'm a VERY picky eater! Lastly, the dessert... The bread pudding and ice cream knocked it out of the park! I don't know when I'll ever come back here, but it was great and a place worth going!

On a road trip vacation that I planned for a year. I had the world buffet as a dinner choice and relax with some drinks and gambling in the hard rock casino. I followed 20 people in through the line and their were 20 people behind me. The casino was not diverse as maybe the area was not as well. I traveled through the casino and looking for my favorite slots, I'm more interested in gambling than my husband. Then I stopped and notice my husband was not next to me. I turned and walked through the 20 people behind me to see my husband who is 40 and the only black person I could see in the casino (we had been there for a while dining) being detained with his license being highly scrutinized. We were aghast. It was so obviously a racial situation. My husband who never gets angry but amused and I decided we would gamble. It just started to irritate as we watched the entrance and see no one else coming in having the same issue. Why should we spend our money on a business that allows this behavior. So we left with our money in our pockets and we shall never return. Zero stars if I could!

This place is a blast, it's gorgeous and SO clean! We went on a Tuesday night, and arrived after 9pm so most of the restaurants were closed. We're excited to go back again, when we can try more things. They have many bars placed throughout the floor, and drinks were generous and served in quality glasses...at 4 bucks for a cocktail, I couldn't complain. I was surprised and pleased to find not one, but TWO 5$ Blackjack tables! They switched to $10 tables around 10pm, but the pit boss grandfathered the current players into the 5$ minimum as long as they were at the table. The dealers and staff that we interacted with were VERY friendly, and our BJ dealer, Tyler, had a terrific sense of humor and really made things fun! There were complimentary beverages and large coolers placed all around holding mini-water bottles- so you didn't have to wander far for a refreshment. Additonally, I think it was the cleanest bathroom I've EVER been to! Our only option for food was Fuel, an American Grill. My expectations were minimal, considering it's the obligatory 24-hour diner, but I was surprisingly pleased! Servings were generous and prices were reasonable. The hubs had a Swiss Mushroom Burger, and I had a Bacon-Tomato Grilled Cheese- both came with sizes- excellent tots to boot! Even the front counter lady was extremely nice, even delivering our food since it was slow. We will definitely be back, they've got quite a line-up of bands coming, and we're anxious to check out the buffet. Ratings on the buffet aren't too favorable yet, so I'm hoping they'll spice things up with a seafood (crab legs) night or something fun like that!

Oh, Yelp, you should allow half-stars, as I want to only give 3.5, but will round up. Stayed here with my daughter over Christmas while visiting family in Sioux. The Positive: Staff was excellent. Check in was greeted with a free holiday cocktail. Vegas-quality fit and finish, large rooms with high-end fixtures. We stayed on the 4th floor which offered a nice view of downtown. Bedding was great, temp and air flow perfect (hate stuffy rooms). We only had one meal, at Fuel, and it was reasonable and of good quality (see pic). I would have liked to explore the other restaurant offerings, but with family meals in town just did not have the capacity. The casino was pretty typical (center area with shops and food and bars along the perimeter) and featured brand new slots that catered to a broad demographic. I do not know what the payout ratio is, but in the three days there I lost $245 while my daughter won over $400. Smoking everywhere and free well drinks. The air scrubbers - aside from the scent, see below - did a good job of keeping the air breathable in the casino. Since we were there in the dead of winter, have no idea about the outdoor pool and party spaces. It would be interesting to visit in the summer. The Negative: The air freshener they use in the air handling system to cover up the smoke from the casino was overpowering in much of the hotel, like thick, cheap perfume. My daughter and I both thought that it was giving us headaches, but that could be the cheap well drinks. I hope the management does air quality checks and dials down the scent. Some have complained about the cost of drinks, but for me, a Colorado craft beer lover, found paying $6-$9 for an 11% Belgian Quad was well worth it. The miss-use of a contraction engraved in the elevator rail was funny at first, then sad (see pics), as a new hotel - and one of this standard - should know better. Fix it! There is really a lack of Rock and Roll memorabilia and musical presence at all. I know that the focus of the hotel/casino chains is on gambling, but with the Hard Rock moniker, I expected more. The best Hard Rocks have the walls covered in items, typically with a local emphasis, and big screen TVs that continuously roll music videos. I really wanted more of that kind of experience, and found only one item from Iowa's own Slipknot. There was music playing on the casino floor, much of the time drowned out by the jingling and noise from the hundreds of slot machines. Get more memorabilia and put several big screens with music videos along the perimeter of the casino floor to make this truly Rock and Roll. Likewise for the rooms, a couple of R&R art pieces, but nothing to distinguish one room from the other. It would be cool to give each room a light theme based on an artist, group, or producer; there are certainly thousands of possibilities in the 70+ year history of Rock and Roll.

Went to the Grand Opening last night ( they didn't have a ribbon cutting- but a GUITAR SMASHING!) - what a great looking place. Of course the place was really busy (big crowd outside waiting for the opening at 8pm), but the employees were really happy and friendly. I heard they will be having live entertainment Wednesday through Saturday (Sunday?) -200 nights a year. I think this will a great place!

Went to the Hard Rock from 1/31 to 2/2 to go to the Super Bowl Party. Left home on Saturday, a day early, because of impending blizzard. Checked in and we were given a free drink during that process. Went to our room. Very cool 30 foot ceilings with exposed wooden beams, exposed brick around windows....just a neat room. On our way to the casino we were looking at an Elvis costume on display and was approached by a young man who began talking to us, and showed us a photo of this display on his cell phone with a reflection of an Elvis impersonator looking at this very Elvis costume. The image of the impersonator was a reflection in the display glass and semi transparent. Quite the photo. Looked like Elvis looking at his own costume. Very well done. The young man introduced himself as Todd, the General Manager and asked us if we were there for the Elvis impersonation contest. We said no, that we were there early for the Super Bowl Party but didn't want to miss it because of the weather. He asked if we would be interested in seeing it, took us into the venue and furnished us with fantastic seats. We thoroughly enjoyed the Elvis impersonators. Afterwards we hit the casino and did OK. Enjoyed the buffet as well. Great ribs. Next morning hit the casino and, well, you can't win all the time. Refreshed at the room before the Super Bowl Party and headed to the bar to watch the game, enjoy two dollar beers and had a great time again. We'll be back. Everyone we encountered was exceptionally nice and very gracious, from the G.M. to the service staff. Thanks, Hard Rock, we will be returning soon. (And thanks,Todd, great photo.)

I would like to start by saying my father does architecture for casinos so ive seen tons of casinos in my life time, Ive lived in vegas and a whole lot of other places....I was super excited for hard rock to come to this town. With that being said the layout of this place makes no sense, it feels like a cheap shopping center the second you walk in. All of the eating areas look cheap and unappealing (so we didnt even eat here which was our goal) The Casino part of it is just a big circle in the middle of the room which feels weird and disjointed. Oh and I didn't even touch on the fact that it looks like a boring old building from the outside....Overall this place just falls flat on all levels. This place needs a complete and total make over before i consider coming back. Side note The noise that comes from their concerts is insane and disrespectful to the entire town, I live 2 miles away and you can hear every lyric and feel the vibrations on the windows
